Investigating durability

We have investigated which rock is the most durable (lasts the longest).

We made our test fair buy keeping everything the same except for the rock. We tested slate, granite, sandstone, clay and gnessi.

  1. We did a quiz on rocks and soils. We had to answer questions about where rocks come from and what they are used for. The winning group received a reward.

Last week we carried out an experiment to test which soil was the least permeable (lets the least amount of water through).
We found out that clay soil was the least permeable and that gravel was the most permeable. We also tested compost and sandy soil.

Can you guess why clay soil held the most water?
