Numeracy Homework 24-4-13

Shape detectives!!!

For your homework this week we would like to challenge your mathematical vocabulary and skills. Your task is to create a number of clues to test your teacher and friends.

E.g. I am thinking of a shape...
*It has more than 3 sides
*it is not a 3D shape
*It is a regular shape
*it has 4 corners
*not all sides are equal
*It has 2 lines of symmetry

What shape am I...?      Oblong (rectangle)

Now its your turn! Come up with two challenges and see if your teacher can solve them.

      is it a Hexagon or an octagon. It could be any shape with 6, 8, 9, etc sides

      A 3D shape with no sides or corners must be a sphere.

    I am thinking of a shape???...

    It has more than two sides.
    It has less than 8 sides.
    All of the sides are the same length.
    If put side by side they fit together without any spaces.
    It is not a 3D shape.
